TWO Happy Hours with Award-winning Opera Stage Director Nic Muni

Be a part of this special opera experience! Enjoy a sandwich or – if joining the Friday evening session – a beer while watching the opera stage director Nic Muni coaching young and talented professional singers. Nic will also share his experiences with the aspiring opera vocalists. Award-winning pianist Wei-En Hsu will accompany the masterclass.

Recipient of six National Opera Association Awards, Nic Muni has directed opera productions around the world for more than 30 years, and has worked with countless famous companies including New York City Opera, Melbourne’s Victoria State Opera, and the Prague National Theatre.

The new ArtisTree’s month-long opening season programme will feature four productions developed by homegrown and international artists, alongside workshops hosted by professional artists. From 9 to 26 June 2017, all performances and workshops will offer free admission. Pre-registration is required.

Nic Muni

Nic Muni is Artistic Director for both the A. J. Fletcher Opera Institute at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and More Than Musical (HK). He has also served in that capacity for both Tulsa Opera and Cincinnati Opera.

For the A. J. Fletcher Opera Institute, he has directed La Tragédie de Carmen, Florencia en el Amazonas and Impressions de Pelléas, and, elsewhere, Norma at Dallas Opera and Florida Grand Opera, Lucia di Lammermoor at The Academy of Vocal Arts (Philadelphia), Higglety, Pigglety, Pop and Die Zauberflöte at Bard Conservatory Vocal Arts Program, Don Giovanni at San Diego Opera and Don Pasquale at San Francisco Opera Merola Program. He served as Director and Production Designer of La Traviata for More Than Musical (2016 and 2017).
